  • The morning begins at 9am with a choice of two sessions, one from Dr Michelle Dalrymple and another from Dr Lisa Darragh. These sessions will be followed by 3 sets of 3 concurrent sessions aimed at years 2021Free Activators, and   Information about the morning and the link to register may be found on the AMA website .  

    All sessions will be recorded June 13 where the presenter has given permission the recordings will be available publicly on our AMA youtube channel

    Maths Week is being held June 13 10 August and Friday 14 August.
    To download teacher materials you will need to be registered, and 2021Free Activators to download the teacher materials next week, 2021Free Activators. The site stays open til the end of the year for students, but the teacher materials are only available for a short time. 

    Maths Week provides resources for students and teachers.  The material Maths Week is written for all students from Year 1 through to Year 11 at different levels:

    • Level 2 – primarily for Years 3 and 4.

    The Waikato and Bay of Plenty June 13 of Expertise will be holding a series of free online PD sessions to look at a number of topics of interest to mathematics and statistics teachers in our region. There will be material of interest to teachers of students from yr 0 to year There will be opportunities to ask questions and share ideas.

    The sessions will be recorded and technology prevailing will be posted on the  June 13 YouTube channel after the event.

    Modern Learning Environments - The Rototuna Senior High School Experience

    Andrew Marshall and Jason Sharma will share their experiences integrating maths at NCEA level 1, 2, and 3.

    Examples will include Maths and PE, June 13, Maths and Chemistry, Maths and Music, Maths and Geography.

    NZQA update on the development of prototype assessment activities in a digital environment for AS – Apply Calculus Methods in Solving Problems and AS - Apply probability distributions in solving problems.
    The NZQA development team is working on four prototype digital assessment activities for AS – Apply Calculus Methods in Solving Problems and expect that the first two will be available for trialling at the beginning of term 3. The remaining two will be released a few weeks later, 2021Free Activators. Students will need to use a device and an internet connection to try the activities. 
    We expect students will take between 20 and 30 minutes to complete each activity. The activities can be done separately, and students can complete them in class, in study time or at home. Students do not need to be supervised when completing the activities.
    NZQA originally planned to trial these activities with students from selected schools, 2021Free Activators. However, as they provide an opportunity to support students whose learning has been impacted by COVID, we are offering access to all schools which are ExpanDrive Free Download will need to use Desmos and students need to be familiar with, or become familiar with, the Desmos environment. Teachers will need to access Teacher Desmos to provide students with access to the activities.

    • a third tab with introductory videos to help teachers use these tabs and introduce them to their students, together with a word document containing further support. 
    The link is expected to be fully functional by mid June. Teachers are June 13 to explore these tabs with their students. We expect teachers will need to spend two or three lessons with their students to help them become familiar with the probability distribution explorer, June 13. The explorer will be 2021Free Activators to teachers and students for the relevant teaching and learning, as well as for the assessment activities. 
    NZQA originally planned to trial these activities with students from selected schools. However, as the activities provide an opportunity to support students whose learning has been impacted by COVID, June 13, we are offering access to all schools 2021Free Activators are interested. 
    Towards the end of term 3 all students who have trialled the activities and their teachers will be asked to complete an online survey about them.
